Yesterday October 3rd I began my trip to Brevard, NC for a week of photography. While I was traveling I listened to many “worship” songs from various Christian artist, and while listening, I noticed that a majority of the songs were about asking the Lord to fulfill a personal will to be free, protected, etc.. I thought: You know, no wonder people leave the faith, their will is not something that anyone should be asking the Lord to fulfill, we always ask that the Father’s will be done, not our own. That is why we have the example of how to pray in the “Our Father.” The Our Father is how Jesus prayed, just as He prayed in the garden prior to Him be taken by the temple guards. We truly need to learn that our prayers are always: Father that YOUR WILL be none, not MY will. Of course that is an issue for many because praying that the Father’s will be done will require walking in Jesus’s sandles. Please pray that God’s will be done in our lives, and not our own will.
Did you know that the phrase “God helps those who help themselves” is not backed up by scripture.
