To Know Christ

To Know someone:

The biblical usage of the word “know” means to have an intimate, personal relationship with a person (Genesis 4:1).

Question: Could you please explain the concept of eternal and everlasting life?

Answer: As said in John 17:3, eternal life is defined as having a deep and intimate knowledge of God and Jesus Christ, rather than a physical acquaintance.

The essence of our existence is to be consistently seeking God, as we persistently try to nurture a profound and intimate relationship with Him, fully expecting the fulfillment of His promise of everlasting life in His divine presence. We should understand that gaining knowledge about Him alone is not enough; it is crucial to build a personal relationship with Him to appreciate our eternal prospects.

It’s sad to see that nowadays, discussions about God and Jesus are only happening on Wednesday nights or Sunday mornings. I have noticed that many people are not reading or studying the scriptures. This becomes clear when they ask me about the meaning of specific verses. My reply is that the verse means exactly what it says. Yes, some words require further explanation, as they do not have a direct equivalent in English. However, we can trust the scriptures we have, knowing that they are remarkably close to the original thoughts of the writer.

I hope and pray that more people will read the Scriptures. I pray that the Holy Spirit will teach them what they need to know. I pray that a person’s faith is not active only on Wednesdays and Sundays, but every day.

Shalom
