Answer Me When I Call

Original Psalm Four KJV: “Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer. O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him. Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD. There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us. Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased. I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.”

Prayer based on Psalm four:

Worship before prayer: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.For thine is the Kingdom, and the power and the glory forever, amen.”

Prayer: O God of all creation hear us when we call. When we are distressed and we cry out for you hear us O God. Forgive us LORD for our doubts, our unbelief, our pride, our high-mindedness, our ambitions, our neglect in not being your representatives . People everywhere should see you LORD when they look upon your followers and not just some person in passing. You O LORD has set us apart and made us righteous, and by doing this we are one with Jesus just as Jesus is one with you. When we first believed we became a new creation. We were overjoyed and filled with the desire to tell the world about you. I pray LORD that we not forget our first love and how you increased us so we can run the good race until we meet you face-to-face, amen.

Comment:  Isn’t it amazing that in today’s churches we return to the past instead of moving forward day-by-day. We have the letters from the Apostles. We have the situations the Apostles had to endure. We have the history of all the saints since the beginning of the movement. We study the written word while neglecting to stud the living WORD. Our faith is not based on past events but on the living Christ. In today’s churches people are subjected to psychological sermons where we are taught how to behave as Christians. We do not hear today about living with our alive King and savior. We are continuously told how the early believes were, and not how believers are today and the fruit they are bearing for the kingdom. Today I feel the church at large has failed to grasp what the writer of Hebrews chapter six communicated, that we are no longer to lay again a foundation of repentance from dead works, and faith toward God, or of the doctrines of baptism, laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment. We are to mature in the faith and not remain in the past. Why is it then that today we are not being taught to grow up in the Lord, to study the living WORD and not just the book. Who is trying to prevent the called out ones from being alive in Christ and maturing in Christ. Who deludes the faith have leaders build organizations based on secular business models? Who continuously tells us we are not worthy? Who pretends that their earthy knowledge is above the knowledge the Holy Spirit gives us? Who writes doctrines that are more important than the scriptures? Who continuously tells us if we study book, go to seminary, acquire a PHD that we will know all things? Who?

Each of King Davids Psalms our not only for his time on this earth; these Psalms should be for us today in our spiritual battles and our every day walk with the Lord Christ Jesus. What David experienced we can expect to experience. The book of Ecclesiastes tells us there is “nothing new under the sun” and knowing that, we should expect the enemy to attack us in ways that cause us to question our faith i the Lord Christ. The enemy will throw all sorts of distractions at us, and as the end of this age draws nearer we can expect that even physical attacks will increase against us because of our belief in Jesus.
